Building the Machine Ecosystem

iLumidi is in active alpha. The core host, MIDI Workshop, Factory, OKTRTA, and the first generation of Machines are being developed now.

Downloads aren't open yet, but we welcome collaborators, early testers, and creators interested in helping shape what comes next.

Overview

iLumidi is Execute Entropy's flagship MIDI platform—a render-agnostic host and translation layer connecting hardware, software, control surfaces, performance logic, and modular Machines.

It can receive and generate MIDI, observe and diagnose traffic, create mappings, transform data, route events between devices, and expose that activity to Machines. A Machine can be a visual instrument, a timing system, an analyzer, a performance utility, a control environment, or something entirely new.

Visual Machines such as MIDI Sketch N' Etch and Rainbow Rain translate musical data into motion, color, graphics, and animation. Tools such as Bar Beacon demonstrate that Machines are not limited to visuals: they can also interpret timing, reveal structure, support performance, and extend the host in practical ways.

The broader iLumidi Suite brings together MIDI Portal's observation and diagnostic foundation, Factory's user-built control surfaces, OKTRTA's Meta-Macro performance system, and an expanding ecosystem of modular Machines—all operating through one shared MIDI environment.

Rather than prescribing a single workflow, iLumidi is designed to become the connective layer between the tools, devices, ideas, and forms of expression each User brings to it.

Capabilities

  • Render-agnostic host for visual, analytical, timing, control, and utility Machines
  • MIDI observation, generation, mapping, transformation, routing, and translation
  • Factory control-surface construction for custom instruments and workflows
  • OKTRTA Meta-Macro System for expressive one-to-many control
  • GPU-accelerated visual runtime with support for nonvisual Machines
  • Main and auxiliary display hosts for multi-surface performance
  • MIDI Workshop tools for devices, Hot Lists, routing, mappings, and configuration
  • Saveable project workspaces, reusable mappings, and persistent Machine setups
  • Growing first-party Machine lineup
  • Foundation for future User-created Machines and creator distribution

Designed for a future creator ecosystem where Users can build, publish, share, sell, gift, and trade their own Machines.

One host. Many Machines. A new layer between MIDI and expression.
